What we do here
BuilTaBear Productions is a small, values-driven creative venture that supports meaningful storytelling and thoughtful creative work grounded in the lived experience of trans men.
This work shows up in a few different ways: YouTube videos, personal blog writing, and occasional in-person local events. Each is approached with care and intention, with an emphasis on honesty, connection, and the value of sharing real experiences in real time, whether online or face to face. At its core, the work is about showing up, telling the truth, and making room for connection.

Who Is BuilTaBear?
BuilTaBear55 is a single, gay, and mature trans man/ FTM, living in California’s Central Valley. He began his medical transition in 2002 and brings a long-view perspective shaped by time, experience, and change. He is retired from a decades-long career in IT that took him to places such as the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Oregon, and Brighton, England.
He uses the name BuilTaBear55 online and chooses not to share his in-person name in open spaces. This is not about secrecy, but about maintaining personal boundaries, particularly in the current political climate.
He is clear that his perspective is his own. He does not speak for the trans community, nor does he claim to. His transition and life experience were not “typical,” and as a result, his views may sometimes differ from more commonly heard narratives. They are offered honestly, with the understanding that difference does not require consensus.
